Hello!
Wondering about rides to and from airport??
I am trying to come into Laguardia  either 9/11 or 9/12 and leaving 9/14 or 9/15-have just started looking into flights
They arrive at about 2pm and leave about 6pm
Chris is possibly getting rides from Garry Moore at Kennedy but my flights are very different times into there so I don't think that would work
Help! Bueller , anyone, Bueller??

I have a Rav 4 and can pick up folks at the airport if you need a ride. Just let me know a time and I will be there. I can fit probably 4 people if flights are close at hand. See you soon, Smitty

I'm arriving LaGuardia on Fri., 9/12, at 1:40pm, on UA 358 in from Denver, and would love to share a ride or be collected!   Thanks, everybody   ~  Lavinia in Colorado

lets give it a week or so and see how many more may be coming in at a similar time. We can work out arrangements based on that info. No worries, we'll work out the details as we get closer..

Getting kinda close now...I can only seem to locate fancy limo car services 'twixt LaGuardia & the Islandia Marriott, which are going to charge upwards of $125 one way!!  Is anybody coming into that airport on Friday who is getting a car?  I'd be happy to share cost, etc.  Or, does anybody know if there are any of the call-when-you're-there type shuttle services connecting LaGuardia with Islandia area (I didn't seem to find any on an online search; might be using the wrong phrases?)  Or, if anyone is willing to come collect me, I'd would happily pay for gas!!  Info, phone numbers, offers, rental rickshaws?!  I'll get there somehow...Lavinia from the West

Lavinia, how many arriving in your party - and at what time? If it's early
enough in the day, I can shuttle you in exchange for a ghost story about
The Peace & Plenty Inn....

Vaughn

Lavinia, sounds like Vaughn has a good deal for sure. If not, then here is a link for a shared ride from LGA to the hotel.

A shared ride is about $57 to the Ronkonkoma area. If none of that works, let me know and we'll figure out something!

For those interested.
From JFK there is the AIRTRAIN ($5) which will bring you into the LIRR (Jamaica Station) a 9 minute ride.  From there you can get to Ronkonkoma for about $11 on the train, about 1 hour.
From LGA you can get on the Q33 bus to the last stop (Roosevelt Ave.).  You will need a MetroCArd or exact change $2.  Roosevelt avenue is also a subway station.  Take the 'E' train EAST to Suphin Blvd which is Jamaica Station and the LIRR.  Once again take train to Ronkonkoma.  Check LIRR schedule on web for times.
Using this means of travel may not be for people not used to crowds, but, it will work and is an alternative.

The ultra-gallant Vaughn has graciously offered to collect myself with his rental chariot, which arrangement I enthusiastically accepted  -  mega, mega thanks, Vaughn!!  He claims he wants to hear ghost stories of Peace & Plenty, which sounds to me like a great way to spend the drive out to Islip.  See you all on Friday ~
