Walt Whitman High School Class of 1968 - Photo Galleries

Welcome to our Walt Whitman High School Class of 1968 Photo Galleries feature.  You can help enhance the appeal of our Website by contributing your photos to these galleries.   Your classmates want to see both old and new photographs so dig through the attic and archives and start posting your treasures.  If you do not have the required digital format to upload (jpeg preferred) you can take your photos to a print shop like Kinkos and have them scanned to a disc. If you need more help let us know.
And, if you or a group of classmates would like to start a completely separate special interest photo gallery you may submit a request by clicking on the contact administrator button.   So, have some fun and show us your STUFF!

  • 1 Year Reunion

  • 10 Year Reunion
  • I believe the 10th was held at the Huntington Townhouse (which, sorry to tell you, is evidently being torn down - it IS closed).  This is Katie typing, but see if anybody else agrees: 10 years' elapsing didn't do much to change any of us.  The great dancers still danced great, the timid individuals clung to one another timidly, and I don't think there was a huge amount of BLENDING. &n...

  • 20 Year Reunion
  • 20 year reunion, Sons of Italy, Somewhere, Long Island, New York - they chucked us out at midnight, and we scattered to the winds, and also CONTRIBUTED to those winds, because you have never heard a gabbier class than ours when it comes to reuniting...

  • 30 Year Reunion
  • As you can see from the following photos we had a great turnout and everyone had a wonderful time at our 30 year reunion. It was a Coco's - the din of the DJ was ear-splitting, and we had to compete somewhat with another party in the other part of the building.  Still, there was a LOT of dancing and talking and screaming and laughing - which prompted us to plan a 35th, as no one wanted to ...

  • 35 Year Reunion
  • 35th Class Reunion - held at a Marriott in Islip, NY, September 2003 - the preunion the night before was at Coco's and we actually turned the volume UP on the 30th reunion, decibel-wise!!!  We improved our reuniting skills by reserving a block of hotel rooms so we could reunite without fear of meeting the local constabulary on the highway... AWESOME TIME.  Top floor of the hotel - ove...

  • 40th Reunion- Friday afternoon
  • On Friday afternoon September 12, 2008, a number of us spent time getting the room ready for the upcoming events. As more people began arriving to check in at the hotel , the atmosphere became more and more festive. Smiles were breaking out everywhere,  lots of hugs and kisses were being exchanged, everyone was pitching in to help. The room was electric with the anticipation of seeing the ...

  • 40th Reunion- Saturday September 13, 2008 Tour of Huntington
  • After our tour of WWHS, many of our classmates ventured to downtown Huntington. We walked around town to see what had changed over the years, met with other classmates for lunch at various local restaurants and drove around town to see the sights, both old and new. • 40th Reunion- Thursday night arrivals
  • The reunion weekend began in earnest Thursday night as the early arrivers began to check in at the Marriot Islandia Hotel. Before long, most everyone enjoyed a group dinner together with the reunion committee. Afterwards we congregated in the room shared by Christie Green, Pidgn McQuair and Kim Bank.  What a start to the festivities! This would begin 4 days of non stop activities. Here the...

  • Baby Boomers Humour
  • As most of us were born in either 1949 or 1950, we qualify as the heart of the  'Baby Boomer' generation. Here then are some interesting photos and comparisons of what we grew up with, and what is prevalent in today's society. See if anything rings a bell for you..

  • South Huntington Schools - Buildings
  • Since we left the hallowed halls of Walt Whitman, many changes have taken place in the district over the years. Alas, many have long since closed or changed in usage. We thought it would be fun to show the buildings the district ...

  • The 60's
  • The 1960's were well before the days of the internet, 4 cylinder SUV's,  digital photos, cell phones, and grande decaf triple shot half skim soy lattes. We are all children of that very special 60's era. Peruse our gallery and see if these images evoke any memories of our WWHS years of 1964-1968.

  • WWHS Alumni Family
  • Many of us have sisters, brothers, spouses or other family members who graduated from Walt Whitman. This gallery is dedicated to showcase those close to you who graduated in different years. Please add YOUR family members who are fellow Wildcat grads.

  • We Got Together
